Ms. Haskins will be replacing Dr. Benjamin Skaught, who is retiring in June after 19 years of dedicated service to our district. Ms. Haskins was selected from an impressive pool of candidates and will officially assume her position on July 1st.
Ms. Haskins is a graduate of Lincoln University/Temple University where she received her bachelor degree in English/Mass Communications. She received her graduate degree in Education from St. Joseph College and her degree in Educational Leadership from the George Mason University. Ms. Haskins has spent the last five years as one of Conard’s Assistant Principals. Prior to working at Conard, she served in districts in Connecticut and Alexandria, Virginia, as a Special Education Supervisor, Performance Evaluation Program Specialist, Middle School Special Education Coordinator and Supervisor for School Nurses and Psychologists and Special Education Teacher at the middle and high school levels. A colleague commented, "Roszena demands that students live up to her standards, and teaches people how to have high standards for themselves. Every one of her students knows that she only wants what is best for them."
Her reputation as a clear, articulate communicator, with a collaborative, approachable, accessible style and a record of forging solid connections between colleagues, families, and the community will serve Sedgwick Middle School well. Ms. Haskins brings vision, integrity and courageous leadership that will mobilize the community in support of our middle school youngsters to ensure they are prepared for high levels of achievement at Conard High School.
